Iraqi police say two car bombs have exploded outside churches in the northern city of Kirkuk, wounding three people.
Police say two churches were damaged by the car bombs, which went off in quick succession Wednesday.
The bombings are the latest attack on Christian buildings in Iraq. Insurgents bombed churches and a monastery in the northern city of Mosul on Sunday, wounding several people.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki told the Vatican's ambassador to Iraq Tuesday that his government is doing its best to protect Iraq's Christians. Mr. Maliki also stressed that all Iraqi religious groups are targeted by insurgents.
