According to hotel workers at the scene, officers of the Wake County Sheriff's Office arrived this afternoon at the Microtel Inn located at 104 Factory Shops Drive in Morrisville off of Interstate 40 at exit 284. The 99 room hotel is only about half a mile from the Raleigh-Durham airport ..... police investigators towed the black Dodge extended cab pickup truck that is thought to belong to Corporal Cesar Laurean at about 4:35pm. The truck was towed back to Onslow County to be searched for clues.

In a press conference on Monday, Onslow County Sherriff Ed Brown said that in addition to reports generated from the Raleigh area about possibly seeing Laurean's truck, the victim's ATM card was found in nearby Durham. According to Brown, Lauterbach's ATM card was found near the bus station in downtown Durham over the weekend.
With the discovery of Laurean's truck in Morrisville, which is just off of Interstate 40 connecting Raleigh and Durham, the likelihood that he was in the area recently certainly increases.
