Iran urges developing Jihad culture
Source: Press TV*

The Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called on the Muslim community to promote the Jihad culture against global hegemony.

During a meeting with the Algerian Minister of War Veterans Mohamed Cherif Abbas, President Ahmadinejad said domineering world powers have always seeking to undermine stability, unity and dignity of nations.

However, they have found themselves trapped in a quagmire in countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Sudan, Lebanon and South America, Ahmadinejad added .

He pointed to Iran and Algeria's cultural commonalities and called for the expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Mohamed Cherif Abbas for his part, praised the Iranian nation's resistance against global powers which aim to suppress developing countries under the pretext of globalization.

5. Yes
Iran's state broadcaster, IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) will today launch Press TV, its English-language satellite TV channel, as international tension about the country's nuclear programme mounts.

The 24-hour channel is meant to 'break the global media stranglehold of western outlets,' and 'show the other side of the story' in the Middle East.

Mohammad Sarafraz, vice president of IRIB, stated in a press conference in Tehran last week that the English-language news channel was set up ‘to counteract the lies of the western media'. He accused the US government of using the September 11 attacks to legitimise its invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq under the pretext of combating terrorism, and stated that Press TV would show the world another point of view.

6. Press TV is the international English news TV station

run by IRIB the state broadcaster. It's available unencypted if you have a decent Ku-band dish and receiver (as is Al-Jazeera English). Press TV does a decent job covering the Middle East, if it is a little slanted.

For you geek folks: it's on Galaxy 25 (Telsat 5) at 97 degrees. Here's the exact frequency of it and other stations on that sat: http://www.lyngsat.com/galaxy25.html

11. "countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Sudan, Lebanon and South America"
When did South America become a country and why isn't Tibet included in the list?

12. hmm...
going to challenge the liberties, scientific superiority, and rationality of the Western Enlightenment and all of its positive effects for the Western world with an alternative cultural viewpoint: Jihadi Culture?

Modern culture vs. Medieval, religious-inspired organization of society?

It's no contest...Western life, with all its problems, is still much more attractive.
