2. Just a really tragic deal all around.
I had to cover some of that stuff years ago after he'd shot his sister's lover and wound up having to do time. Just a really tragic situation all around. His sister, Cheyenne, was pretty messed up. She's gone, too.

So sad. So pointless. Oh well, he's with his dad and sister and other family members now, at least, so we can take some comfort.

A very handsome and intelligent but extremely messed-up young man. Just so frickin' sad.

8. I'm thinking Heath had pneumonia too!
Maybe he was so sick he couldn't sleep, so he took the pills to help.
Betcha he had pneumonia.

6. What a waste his life was
It's very sad really, that he did nothing one could call positive or good his entire adult life. Not sure it was all his fault but still, it's always a tragedy when a person squanders their whole life and then dies at the young age of 49. I loved Brando and his work as much as anyone, but he really had the worst parenting skills I have ever heard of.

15. Chrisitian didn't "squander" his life
He was sick, and deserves more compassion.

I'll agree with you that Marlon might very well have deserved the "Shitty Parent of the Year" award.

17. Sorry to disagree
But he surely did waste his life. What exactly did he do that can be pointed to as a contribution to society or humanity as a whole? As far as I can tell, he did nothing at all that was positive, as opposed to the negative of taking the life of a young man who was unlucky enough to have gotten involved with his equally troubled sister. Sure, from all that I had read he had just an appalling upbringing, all that came out during the scandal of the murder he committed, but plenty of people have had terrible childhoods and are able to rise above it as adults. Some may think it's harsh to say, but in my opinion his life was a complete and utter waste. At least he didn't leave any children behind who would have had the burden of living down such an awful legacy. In the end, that is the only thing he did do right.

23. Just because he didn't do anything
to become famous for, or to be written about, doesn't mean that his life was a waste.

Sounds pretty squandered to me.
