Romney memo says media ‘ready to anoint’ McCain
Source: The Hill

A memo from a senior strategist for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney says that the media are ready to give the Republican nomination to Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), but if Romney can attract more conservatives, he will win the nomination.

“We still have an uphill battle in front of us,” Romney strategist Alex Gage wrote in the memo. “The mainstream media is (sic) ready to anoint John McCain and he will have advantages in many states running for president for the past eight years – but Gov. Romney has a clear path to victory on February 5th and beyond.”

The memo, obtained by The Hill, outlines how McCain has failed to win over conservative voters in the states that have voted so far, and it details how Romney could have won if only a few more percentage points of that bloc had come over.

“The coalitions that John McCain assembled in New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida have been strikingly similar – and are strikingly tenuous,” Gage wrote.

4. I'm an independant in Mass and I am really considering taking
out a Repuke ballot to vote aginst Romney. The only way that will change is if Obama pulls close to HRC in the polls which seems to be trending that way. The thought of Mitt carrying Mass. again makes my blood boil.

3. Romney is perhaps one of the single most dislikable politicians
I have ever seen.

Ever thing that oozes out of him strikes me as fake. He's the most manufactured, inauthentic, pandering candidate to have run in a while.

That's exactly why I want him to be the nominee. He's a joke.

10. Will Romney face media backlash?
Hillary Clinton remarked on a vast right wing conspiracy that was working against her husband's presidency, and oh! how the media had a good laugh about that. She was right, of course, but that didn't mean anyone was going to take it seriously. Will Romney's campaign be subjected to similar ridicule?

11. It's a shame that the media are ready to hand McCain the nomination...

12. He's a mormon ...

He's a Mormon, automatically that puts him on the "no" list of the vast majority of the parties base. "Straight talk" John McCain kissed just enough Fundamentalist ass to make him viable to this crowd. Huckabee would have been a shoe in except the the people who actually run the party have been keeping him down.

If Romney is still in the running after Tuesday, he should consider offering Huckabee the VP slot and running as a team. This could sway some fundamentalists his way.

14. The polls suggest..
..that it will all be over on super Tuesday.

McCain is going to have it in the bag and he will beat Hillary. Obama is the only winning choice.
