Police: 3 shot dead on Louisiana Technical College

A female student shot two other women and herself Friday morning inside a classroom on the campus of Louisiana Technical College in Baton Rouge, authorities said.

Baton Rough police Sgt. Don Kelly said officers responding to a 911 call found all three victims already dead in a second-floor classroom.

About 20 people were in the classroom at the time of the shooting, Kelly said. He would not give the specific room number or say what kind of class it was.

No shots were fired anywhere else, Kelly said.

The MSM is ignoring that fact, but it's true. I'm not sure if this one particular case had anything to do with the economy, but in general the economy is causing people to fall apart, in stress and in debt, and that combination is going to make incidents like this more and more common.

I am not at all surprised to see a sudden increase in violent acts like this. As someone famous once said, "It's the economy, stupid."

Nothing happens with any greater frequency when there's a new moon, or a full moon, or any other kind of moon. This is an old folk tale that isn't backed up by the evidence. People tend to believe that there is a correlation because they notice the hits (this murder happened and there was a new moon - see? it's true!) and not the misses (It's a new moon, and no murders took place).

I guarantee that if you START with the assumption that murders happen with the most frequency during quarter moons, you'll begin to notice all of the murders that happen during quarter moons.

15. As a college prof, this shit makes me extremely nervous.

Even in our quiet, semi-rural, upper midwest U we see our share of obviously distressed and/or mentally ill students. I hate the idea of security guards and metal detectors at every door, but it may be coming to that.
