Nader considering another White House run: Will appear on "Meet the Press" Sunday

WASHINGTON (AP) — Ralph Nader could be poised for another third party presidential campaign. The consumer advocate will appear on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday. Nader launched his 2004 presidential run on the show. A spokesman for Nader did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Kevin Zeese, who was Nader's spokesman during the 2004 presidential race, but is no longer working for him, said Friday that Nader has been actively talking to "lots of people on all sorts of levels" about the possibility of making another run.

Zeese said he could only guess what Nader might do, but added: "Obviously, I don't think ("Meet the Press" host) Tim Russert would have him on for no reason."

Last month, Nader began an exploratory presidential campaign and launched a Web site that promises to fight "corporate greed, corporate power, corporate control."

Nader's appearance on "Meet the Press" was announced Friday in an e-mail message from Nader's exploratory campaign. The message from "The Nader Team" urges supporters to tell friends and family to watch the show and requests online contributions. "As you know, we've been exploring the possibilities in recent weeks," the message says....

21. Nader on the ballots allows the GOP to transfer 5% of the Dem vote to Nader by E-vote fraud.

That is the only reason they blackmail Nader to run. And yes, at this point I have to assume that they have some kind of blackmail material on Nader or on a friend or family member, maybe from AT&T's domestic spying operation. Why else would Nader keep coming back for more abuse?

Nader can not hope to pick up any real public support with Obama as the Democratic nominee. However, the GOP can fund his campaign and send him on the road to denounce Obama as "the same as McCain".

More important, they can rig the voting machines to flip the votes (within the margin of error) to change Democratic votes to Nader votes. Then, the pundits can say "At the last minute, voters got cold feet about voting for a Black man but they did not want to vote Republican so they voted for Nader."

This makes it more difficult to accuse the Republicans of vote fraud, because why would they give votes to a Green?

Democrats also need to take notice- if it's not Nader, it'll end up being someone else- maybe someone with more appeal and charisma.

Fact is, for the past 14 years, a sizable number of Democrats, even members of its leadership have enabled, legitimized and sometimes embraced and voted for irresponsible Republican policies and extremist nominees. They've repeatedly failed to hold Bush accountable- even once they had majority power in Congress (they're now looking for expedient ways to roll over on illegal wiretaps- in an election year no less).

Democrats seem to have the perception that since bona fide progressives- who would stand up to the far right, have "no where else to go," that they'll just fall in line, no matter how egregious the party's behavior is.

Welp, that's not always how it works- politics, like nature, abhores a vaccuum.

And the Democrats- through their own actions, have created one- yet they whinge whenever someone has the temerity to acknowledge and act on it.

Especially for Sen. Hillary Clinton, there is a need to really connect as she must win big margins in both Ohio and Texas to keep her campaign alive.

Sunday Ralph Nader joins Russert on Meet the Press, Russert claimed not to know if Nader will announce another third party candidacy.

He did predict that an old scandal in Ohio involving the so-called "Keating Five," senators who took donations and helped the head of a failing savings and loan, could be a factor in the race.

I swear to God I will not vote for him in 2008. I was very upset by the Democrats voting with the Republicans on Nafta, and China being accepted into the WTO. I wish I was not a member of the Greens Party from 1996 to 2001, but, please forgive me. My heart was in the right place. I think, if you are honest, you can agree that the Democrats have behaved too much like Republicans. But, to use a Nader line, I am now backing the Lesser of Two Evils. I wish this was not the case, but it is necessary to defeat the Republicans, and the Democrats are the only valid opposition. I wish for the Democratic Party to be the Party of Truth, Honor, Justice, and to serve the interests of All of the Working Class. Nafta and China in the WTO have only made Some Rich People Richer, and has help make the bulk of the Working Class Poorer.

Get Nader to rejoin the Democratic Party. Get the Greens to coalition with the Democrats. Make the Democratic Party a bigger tent than the GOP. We must be united to defeat the interests of the Republicans. The Democratic Party should represent the best in the country.
