FCC Fines 13 Fox Stations for 2003 Episode of 'Married by America'

Saying that its indecency standard is not vague, the Federal Communications Commission Friday issued a forfeiture order against 13 Fox stations for a 2003 airing of Married by America that showed some pixilated body parts of bachelor-party revelers.

The FCC is fining them $7,000 apiece, or a total of $91,000.

... The fine was initially $1.18 million against 169 stations, but the FCC wound up only fining the handful of stations where complaints had actually been filed in that market per a new policy, calling it part of its "appropriately restrained enforcement policy."

The FCC said the parties constituted sexual activities and depicted sexual organs, even if they were blurred.

"While it is true that the nude female breasts and buttocks shown were pixilated," the agency added, "the commission never held that the full exposure of sexual or excretory organs is required to satisfy the first prong of the broadcast-indecency standard."

15. The FCC Was Comatose For Thirty Fucking YEARS

They didn't give Shit One if Bill (Lawfully Elected) Clinton was libeled and/or slandered 24/7. They relaxed the rules regarding who could operate a transmitter (regardless of power) to the point where they disappeared. Which led, ultimately, to Clear Fucking Channel (excuse me while I spit) being able to buy up better than 1,200 representations of the PUBLIC AIRWAVES and operate them 180 degrees AWAY from the public interest. While CUTTING JOBS.

But THEN, they discovered there was a dollar to be made by fining stations and networks for taking advantage of the Free Market Loopholes they opened up by their DECADES OF INACTION. Janet Jackson's TV stations died for her boobs!

And they only do so after 10PM. This puts them outside of the FCC's enforcement authority. They could run fully nude commercials if they wanted, but the cable networks themselves won't permit that to happen (they fear losing viewers, even though they don't fear the FCC).

And ever since the Janet Jackson incident, it has been completely unhinged. When I was growing up, if there was a National Geographic show about people who traditionally only wore belts or wore those odd penis sheaths and then called themselves dressed for the day, well, that was the way they lived and they were shown without shame. Who gets off on footage showing women with breasts stretched out to their knees or an endless parade of butts? But now, all that is made blurry, and making it blurry makes it look indecent when it never was before. It's like Jimmy Kimmel's "This Week in Unnecessary Censorship."

And if ever there was proof that a sound science education is a necessity, the FCC mistaking buttocks and breasts for either excretory or sexual organs is it. Idiots. Scholastic failures. Bob Jones graduates.
