Production of Porsche 911 halted

STUTTGART, Germany - The luxury automaker Porsche AG said Monday that an explosion at the lone plant where 911 models are made has halted production of the popular cars for two to three days.

Two workers were injured in a gas explosion early Monday at the Zuffenhausen factory with an output of 160 cars a day.

Porsche said gas leaked from a drying oven in the paint shop and ignited. The workers were taken to a hospital for treatment and later released.

"The extent of the property damage cannot be determined at this moment, Porsche said in a statement. "Because the sprinklers went off, parts of the production as well as the paint shop are under water."

I was caught in a speed trap in one on the NY State thruway near Woodstock. I came over a rise and saw the tripod under a bridge. I looked down at the speedo and I was doing 92 MPH. There was a line of State Police cars lined up on the shoulder and an officer in the right of way pointing me to the left shoulder.
The waiting officer asks me for my license and registration then apologised for stopping me, explaining that they had a report of one like the one I was driving being stolen. He then hands me back my papers and says "Have a nice day. Drive safely." Off I went.
