BY ROBYNN TYSVER

Democrat Scott Kleeb says the nation needs new personalities and new policies in Washington, D.C., and he thinks he fits the bill as a fresh face.

Kleeb, 32, filed for the U.S. Senate today at the Nebraska Secretary of State's Office in Lincoln.

His entry into the race sets the stage for a spirited Democratic primary match with Columbus businessman Tony Raimondo, 68.

Raimondo, who has already filed for the office, formally announced his campaign this afternoon at Behlen Manufacturing in Columbus. He is chairman of Behlen.

We need Kleeb. Raimondo has given 10's of 1,000s of $ to Republicans and their party in the last year alone!

1. They tried for new ideas in the Senate in 2006. Lieberman won anyway.
Wake me up when there is real, meaningful change and not before; I need a VERY long nap.

4. Here's the email I got from him
Dear Friends, Neighbors and Nebraskans,

After a long conversation with my family and many of you across the state, I have come to the conclusion that the best way to serve my country is by joining the political process and running for the Democratic nomination for the US Senate.

Our nation has reached a critical juncture and its up to each of us to answer this very question – how can we best serve our state and our nation?

What I have realized is that I am only a better man, a better husband, a better father, and a better citizen when I answer the call to serve.

This isn’t just about me, this will be our campaign for the future of Nebraska.

It is your stories, thoughts and ideas that will be critical to the success of our campaign. Please come to one of our campaign events, visit our website, learn more about me and what I believe, ask me questions and most important learn how you can become an important part of this campaign.

Our campaign also needs your donations. Our opponents might be better funded but together we can ensure that we have the resources we need to make sure our message of family, traditions and opportunity reaches all Nebraskans.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you around our great state,

Scott
