Bush: US in 'slowdown' not recession
Source: The Raw Story

US President George W. Bush denied Tuesday that the US economy was in recession or would go into one despite a spate of downcast reports and gloomy indicators.

"We're not in a recession, I don't think we will go in a recession. We're in a slowdown, and there's a difference," Bush said in an interview with American Urban Radio Networks. "No question there is softening now."

The US president boasted of job growth since he took office in January 2001 but acknowledged that "economies go through cycles, and the question is how do you deal with the down-cycle."

"I am confident in our economy," he said.

7. I think the differnce is that "slowdown" doesn't really mean anything,
while "recession" makes him a failure.

Black is a very dark grey and up isn't up in the strictest sense.

4. He is such a
stupid arrogant fuck. :grr:

Slowing down? Massive foreclosures,
consumer debt is high and spending is
low. Rising fuel and utility bills.
Fewer jobs and high unemployment. Rising
costs of foods, especially milk and eggs.
More like teetering on the edge of the
abyss. Who knows how low it will go if
it completely topples over?

15. ** lives in the same "zone of comfort" as his have's & havemore's
his base = 0.5% of the US. The rest of US don't count, never counted, and never will.

And since every single "prediction" ** ever puked out have been proven wrong, here's an advice: buckle up...

11. Too bad for the chimp....he should have let them impeach him.
Then he could blame the death of the American economy on the Democratic White House. As it stands, he's going to leave us with an unnecessary war to get out of, a loss of trade by the trillions, a HUGE national debt our GRANDKIDS won't be able to bail us out of, the shrunken middle class that is beginning to resemble Latin America, and NOW...an economy that is going into recession/depression.

Way to go chimp. You get to take all the credit. You should've pushed for impeachment, you idiot.

12. I'm getting old
Did we not have a surplus? And hasn't the GOP, stalwarts of fiscal responsibility, been in power the last 7 or whatever years?

Call my doctor - obviously something's wrong here. I think the number is 1-800-MIND-JOB.

Apparently I've been sick for a while. Possibly since 2001.
