Water Goodwill Gesture in Border Dispute Between TN and GA
Source: WDEF

Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield sent a message to Georgia lawmakers today in the form of a commodity they need most.

As part of the Mayor's "Give Our Georgia Friends a Drink Day," a truckload of bottled water arrived at the Georgia capital Wednesday morning.

...

But even amidst smiles and laughter, lawmakers stayed firm on their stance: the Tennessee Georgia border should be moved.

In a loaner pickup truck packed with donated water for thirsty Georgians,

Mayor Ron Littlefield:

"I think people have to take this as a gesture of southern political humor."
Mayor Ron Littlefield sent a message in a bottle to the legislators in Atlanta.

Mayor Ron Littlefield:

"They have a serious problem, we have a serious problem but reaching out to take a portion of the city of Chattanooga and the state of Tennessee is not a solution to that problem."

OK. Guess Mayor Littlefield is saying 'forget about it' to the Georgia's legislature 1800 survey ruling that claims part of Tennessee.

1. Water wars, here we go.
.
.
.

Georgia cannot unilaterally redraw state borders to gain access to Tennessee River water

copyright says not to reproduce it in whole OR part, so I'll paraphrase

A lawyer from Tennessee basically says that Georgia is gonna have to fight for it - with their Militia.

2. Dear Georgia: Kiss My Ass
Sonny Perdue just loosened their water restrictions. There are towns in Tennessee that had to have water trucked in, and are still in drought, while Georgia continues draining Lake Lanier for their lawns and their swimming pools. Fuck 'em.
