Former (Capitol Hill) officer admits setting fire (in Senate)
Source: The Hill

A former Capitol Hill police officer has admitted to setting a fire in a Senate office building last fall and accepted a plea agreement offered by prosecutors.

Karen Emory, who was suspended from the police, acknowledged she "willfully destroyed property" by setting a Nov. 2, 2007 fire in a women's restroom in the Dirksen Office building, according to documents released by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

The documents said she destroyed toilet roll dispensers and toilet tissue under control of the Architect of the Capitol, resulting in damages less than $1,000.

I've not heard a whisper as to why she did this in the first place. Has anyone else heard anything on this?

3. She wasn't a "former" Capitol Police officer when she did it.
Remember all of those fires that disrupted the Dems, who were trying
to hold hearings and meetings on BushCo crimes & corruption?

Those fires caused the Capitol Bldg to be evacuated several times.

Timing is everything.

4. I recall that well
I also think that in most cases damages would have taken that into effect as it cost money to disrupt the Senate and evacuate.

However, she wasn't even charged with anything but the one Nov. 2 fire.

6. I live 10 blocks from the Capitol.
The Capitol Police are rude to anyone they think might be a former hippie.

I'm serious.

8. if timing is everything then her timing was really bad
The fires didn't disrupt squat. If you have evidence to the contrary, I'd like to see it. The Nov. 2 fire didn't even result in the evacuation of any buildings. And whie the fires on Oct. 31 caused a 1 hour evacuation in the early afternoon, they didn't "disrupt" any hearings on BushCo of which I'm aware.

7. Was it Tweety?!1 He started bragging about having been a 3-mos rent-a-cop
as a Capital cop (is that different from CapitOl cop?) when the two cops were shot in '97 and were called "heroes" in the media. Before that he wouldn't have acknowledged his temp job. He is SUCH a glory hog!1
