Healey's battle with cancer began at age one when he lost his sight due to Retinoblastoma, a rare form of retinal cancer.

Due to his blindness, Healey taught himself to play guitar by laying the instrument across his lap.

2. An excellent musician
I think his career got a boost from Stevie Ray Vaughn who I think let him open for at least one tour.

This is a very big loss indeed.

I like his version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps better than The Beatles version.

10. I remember playing him on college radio even before he had a record contract. He was on some demo
promo with Jane's Addiction. His big mainstream radio hit was "Angel Eyes, I believe.

My first thought was, "oh, no."

He was the same age as me.

Go in peace, Jeff. You'll be missed.

17. I saw him play in the late 80s at the CNE when I was visiting Toronto. He was so impressive.
My friend and I just happened to wander into the tent where he was performing. I didn't know who he was, but I loved watching him play.

19. Gypsy jazz too
I read about five years ago that he had branched out into playing Django style gypsyswing with some cats in Toronto.

Too bad, he was just a pup!
