(PSA-DAYLIGHT SAVINGS) Time to spring forward, change batteries in (smoke) alarms

It’s that time of year again, when it’s time to “spring” forward clocks an hour for daylight saving time.

The Orange County Fire Chief’s Assn. is also asking residents to change their smoke alarm batteries this weekend and then again in November when clocks “fall” back an hour.

Officials say changing smoke alarm batteries is one of the simplest, most effective ways to reduce fire deaths and injuries.

for those like me that totally forgot.....that * moved up Davlight Savings time a few weeks earlier to the second Sunday in March back in 2005

(DU's version of "GMT" was one hour fast, but has now been corrected, I see).

"GMT" aka "Universal Coordinated Time" (UTC) never changes!!! All other time zones are offset by 15 degrees of latitude from GMT and are changed accordingly 1 hour ahead of the respective standard time in the zone in the spring and switched back to standard time of the zone in the fall (if so mandated by the respective countries/governments in said zone)
