Democrats split delegates
By STEPHEN OHLEMACHER Associated Press Writer
Article Last Updated: 03/12/2008 02:40:23 PM PDT

WASHINGTON—Sen. Barack Obama picked up five more delegates than Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in Mississippi's Democratic primary Tuesday.

But Clinton erased the gain Wednesday after final election results became available from a couple of Super Tuesday contests.

In Mississippi, Obama won 19 delegates and Clinton 14, according to an analysis of returns by The Associated Press.

Obama won the primary with more than 60 percent of the vote, according to unofficial returns. But Clinton was able to hold down Obama's delegate gains by winning one of the state's four congressional districts. Obama carried the other three.

Clinton eliminated the gain when she picked up delegates based on final results from the New York primary and the Colorado caucuses, both of which were held Feb. 5. Clinton gained four delegates in Colorado and one delegate in New York.

Winning that district bodes well for a D pickup in the House this fall.

2. Truth is both Dem candidates should be attacking McCain to force him and the repugs to show
their cards. That would be the best strategy for the party. Instead of answering to the people he's on vacation while the Hillary and Obama bash each other. Go figure.....

3. not quite
While I see Hillary bashing Obama I don't really see Obama bashing Hillary.
I see him trying to run a campaign showing the way he would likely govern.
So far, the only person he has challenged is John McCain. He has challenged
a stupid racist statement from an old congresswoman from New York, but
that was far from bashing

4. That right he's a uniter like Pelosy. He's a reach across the isle to the Repugs candidate. He's
castrated by the Repugs already. Does anyone think that any change will happen? Obama's first four years will be trying to undo Bush's policies. He will be a dissapointment as he is now! Mark my words....!

5. Both lawyers running
know the impact of the superdelegates. Both know they are not tied to popular votes or any such.

To try to assert anything is, well, lawyerly.

6. Write-in campaign
Today on Randi Rhodes show she started talking up a write-in
campaign for Obama. This is if all goes to hell in Hillary's
hand-basket.

be just like the Obama cultists to fuck up the election for the other democrat.
