White House Is Clearing Up Cheney's Remarks
Source: WMDT

Thursday the White House tried to clear up remarks made by the Vice President. Dick Cheney sat down with ABC News while on his Middle East trip. When asked about the public opinion polls on the war in Iraq, Cheney said the Administration can't be blown off course by fluctuations in the those polls.

Press Secretary Dana Perino says Cheney was not saying it doesn't matter what the American public thinks about the war, but that Presidents should not make decisions based on polls.

Perino says, "While people might not like the decisions that he makes, he has to do what he thinks is right for the Country, and he cannot try to chase an opinion poll and try to make things better that way. He has to act on what he thinks is right, and that's what he's done."

The Press Secretary says they still recognize that people across America are unhappy with the war.

1. Opinion polls reflect the will of the people
Who the fuck are they supposed to be working for? I'm not saying decisions should be dictated by polls, but they should certainly be a factor.

2. ABC.com has cleaned it up.

When asked how that assessment comports with recent polls that show about two-thirds of Americans say the fight in Iraq is not worth it, Cheney replied, "So?"

"You don't care what the American people think?" Raddatz asked the vice president.

they removed the No.
"You can't be blown off course by polls," said Cheney, who is currently on a tour of the Middle East. "This president is very courageous and determined to go the course. There has been a huge fundamental change and transformation for the better. That's a huge accomplishment."

11. That's Two Neo-Abes in the White House.....
... Somebody must have given the chimp a Civil War picture book last year, as he's also been comparing himself to Lincoln for a few months now. As a Lincoln expert, I can assure any and all that there are not two more different individuals, in every concievable way, to Abe than the Big Dick and the Chimp. This crew is just frikkin' amazing, just amazing. I can't believe they don't have longer right arms from all the patting themselves on the back.
304 days, maybe less if there is a God.

9. Yes, opinion polls do reflect the will of the people.
That is, unless, they do not support your choice of candidate (or mine). Then they are garbage. Unfortunately, for BushCo, all Iraq polls are garbage now.
