Paterson pays back campaign for hotel tryst, but other bills raise eyebrows
Source: New York Daily News

Friday, March 21st 2008, 12:58 PM

Gov. Paterson says he's reimbursed his campaign for two hotel stays he can't explain while his aides' review found several cases where he used campaign money to pay for men's suits, furniture and bar tabs.

The reimbursements come after Paterson admitted to the Daily News that he may have used his campaign credit card to pay for a hotel visit with one of his lovers.

At the same time, Paterson's aides accused reporters of sexism for raising questions about campaign payments to women.

"In some cases the inquiries have bordered on sexist," said Errol Cockfield, Paterson's spokesman. "The governor has sought to be forthright. We've been very open and honest about these matters."

2. Smells like an election year...
Anyone else sick and fucking tired of the quadrennial ramping up of the media against Democratic candidates during election years?

At least the private lives of these individuals involve consenting ADULTS; not same-sex* MINORS that Republican men seem to salivate over.

*disclaimer: the opinion expressed herein has no bearing upon equal protection/equality for same-sex ADULT relationships.

3. There are some posters here you never hear from outside their obsessive posting of articles
which are apparently deemed to be uncomfortable topics for Democrats. Truly odd.

Some people clearly have too much empty time on their hands.

my "sugar daddy". This investigation should continue.

9. She was elected to Congress as a Democrat 11 times,
House Democratic Whip once, House Democratic Leader twice, and just last year was elected Speaker by the Democratic majority in the House.

Seems to me a whole lot of Democrats like this woman.

12. Cheating on his wife or cheating on the taxpayer provided expense account
They are two very different things. It sounds like he and his wife had what used to be termed as an "open marriage"--both had sex partners outside of each other and seemed fine with it.
But the allegation that he was paying for his trysts with taxpayer money, and is only now reimbursing some of it since it has come to light--that's a whole different kettle of fish.
