Strike-bound American Axle asks laid-off workers to come back
Source: Associated Press

DETROIT (AP) -- American Axle and Manufacturing Holdings Inc. has sent letters to workers who had been laid off before a strike at the auto parts maker began, asking them to return to work.

Company spokeswoman Renee Rogers says Sunday that she didn't know how many workers were sent letters. She says they went to employees represented by the United Auto Workers union, which is on strike.

WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, N.Y. reported details of the letters. Laid-off workers could lose benefits if they don't return to work.

Messages seeking comment were left with union officials.

1. Disgusting.
Become a scab against your own union brothers or your family will starve in the streets.

2. Now, that's about as low as you can get.
How about death matches for 6 year olds? Winners get a bowl of gruel and the opportunity to fight again tomorrow.

3. 1930s Business Plot
The 1933 plot to overthrow FDR and install a fascist U.S. dictatorship was cooked up by pro-fascist business interests including J.P. Morgan, General Motors, Standard Oil, Chase National Bank, the DuPont family, Goodyear Tire, and others.

American Axle would have fit right in. And -- as the contemporary equivalent of the 1930s pro-fascist corporations -- I'm sure they're not alone today.

The time is ripe for a second Business Plot. Just in time comes a new Democratic administration and the Great Depression II.
