Obama Raises $40 Million in March

WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Barack Obama has raised more than $40 million in March with the help of more than 218,000 new donors.

The amount is less than the record $55 million he raised in February, but still a sizable amount that sustains his place as the fundraising leader among all presidential candidates.

Clinton is expected to have raised about $20 million in March, but her campaign has not announced any totals. Details of their March fundraising will be made public in official reports filed with the Federal Election Commission April 20.

The Obama campaign reported having nearly 1.3 million donors overall - a vast network of contributors that the campaign can tap for additional funds in the weeks and months to come

4. exactly. we have invested heart, soul, and paycheck into Obama.
The Payoff will make all of that seem like a pittance.

A small price for changing the World, don't you think?

5. If Hillary really raised $20 million, they would announce it
If Hillary really raised $20 million that would be a very respectable amount, and she would announce it now. That type of announcement was made for previous months. Instead, they are not announcing the amount until it is required under the law. That means it must be bad news. One aide said the amount was approaching $20 million. If he was not lieing, that would probably mean $18 million at most.

The big question is how much of Hillary's money is limited to the general election. Many of her donors (and their spouses, children, employees and great-grand nieces) have maxed out how much they can contribute to Hillary for the primary.

9. Longshot = Money Dries Up
It just works that way, unless there is a dedicated cadre that's usually motivated ideologically. That's not really the case with Clinton, who's always been more "pragmatic," to put it nicely. The shortage of money will be partially offset by her public profile though.
