American Family Association takes aim at McDonald's
Source: PageOneQ

Upset over the election of a senior executive of the fast food giant McDonald's to the Board of Directors of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, Donald Wildmon of the American Family Association is calling upon his organization's members to take action. Wildmon is asking his ranks to call their local McDonald's franchises to ask why the company is "using its size and resources to promote the homosexual agenda" and to use the AFA's online action center to send company Chairman Andrew J. McKenna an email. (On the AFA page, McKenna is misidentified as the company's President.)

On a conservative Catholic board I also post on (while I am able to), there is much frothing at the mouth at McDonalds over this. Some people do not any rights for gays period. :(

Either this cornerstone of our nation's existence is held sacred for ALL people or it is not. It does not say "...unalienable Rights ... except when I don't approve of your looks, friends, ideas, or lifestyle."

I deem those who consciously violate this founding principle to be traitors.

Maybe corporations like McDonald's are trying to hijack the gay rights movement? I feel that the corporate world already hijacked the youth culture, making it not a culture of youth, but rather a culture focused on selling things to youthful people. They're also trying to take over environmentalism by turning it into a trendy consumer fad, and I think they tried to do the same thing to feminism. True feminists support women's right to live as they choose to, whether that means being a parent with a career, a stay at home mom, married and childless, single, whatever. The corporate version only supports a woman's right to have a career, and mocks women who chose to be stay-at-home moms, in an attempt to get a greater number of people on the job market and drive down the cost of labor.

GLBT people, beware! They're trying to steal yr voice!
