Bill Clinton: N.C. now crucial
Source: Charlotte Observer

Like it did in Texas and Ohio, the Clinton campaign for president has drawn a line in the sand, down the middle of the Tar Heel state.

Bill Clinton said Friday in Charlotte that his wife's presidential bid hinges in many ways on whether the New York senator wins North Carolina's Democratic primary.

Speaking to about 4,000 at a rally at UNC Charlotte, the former president said Hillary Clinton would likely have to win the state's May 6 primary to have any chance at winning the overall popular vote and ultimately overtaking Sen. Barack Obama as the party's nominee.

the bleachers themselves.''

There's no way she's going to win NC.

8. Clinton was never going to win NC. Not a chance.
Over 40% of registered Dems are black and Obama's getting 90% of their votes.

10. It's critical until Hil loses the election, then it's irrelevant because...
Edited on Sat Apr-05-08 04:20 PM by grytpype
1) Anything can happen at the convention,

2) The pledged delegates can change their votes from Obama to Hillary,

3) If that doesn't work, the superdelegates can overrule the elected delegates and the popular vote,

4) If that doesn't work, then since she would have won more electoral votes if this were the general election instead of the primary and somehow she and Obama were running against each other, then she sort of won and just give it to her already, or

5) She runs as McCain's running mate on a national unity ticket.

I made up #5 but the 1-4 are actually Hil's official positions! And it's all about democracy mind you!

11. He said the same thing about Texas, lOL
and she did not win. Obama won more delates than she and she lost Texas.

Now it's Pennsylvania and Obama is creeping up on her there. Now is No Carolina? lOL, what a flimsy campaign with these two has beens who just seem desperate at this point, thinking their attack on the Michigan and Florida primaries will win it for them,in spite of the fact that she signed the agreement in the first place.

Ah, Hillary and Bill, how far you have fallen.

They don't care much, after all; they have amassed a fortune to the tune of 109 mil dollars since 2000. No wonder they could give a crap about lying to the people most of the time. No wonder she thought she was entitled to the presidency.

Bill Clinton knows he has lost his bid for a third term. Pictures show him as old and tired looking, trying desperately to be the old Bill he once was. Pictures show her as old and tired looking and every day trying a new tact, besides the serial lying, to look angelic by looking up, which only shows her bo toxed eyes as weird looking.

18. She pretty much has to say that....
The majority of people who might otherwise vote for her wouldn't if they thought there was a good chance she'd drop out.

17. The goalpost is now 2012, probably 2016.
Which is OK, because Hillary will still be younger than McCain is now when 2016 rolls around. I think they are starting to consider the future; maybe not Hillary, but her supporters and advisers have got to wonder how much harm they are doing to her and themselves to follow her over the cliff.

21. Blah Iowa blah small states blah Texas and more blah. It's endless. It's like a gambler...
who is convinced that one more roll of the dice or pull of the slot handle or spin of the roulette wheel will be the winner. BTW Obama won the majority of Texas delegates so I'd say Clinton lost Texas.

26. Hillary can win if the "JesseCrats" vote for her. Many conservatives are registered as Democrats
here in NC. They always vote for the weakest Democrat in the primary and then for for the Republican in the GE.

29. not enough to matter
he's ahead by roughly 20 points here. The bigger cities and college towns will crush Hillary's strength with conservative Dems in the rural areas.

30. Not too real
This is not a quote, and strikes me as made up. It made sense for Bill Clinton to say that Hillary Clinton needed Texas and Ohio. No sense in North Carolina.
