Roadside bomb kills US soldier in Iraq (18 plus 1 non-combat death=19 since Sunday)

BAGHDAD - The U.S. military says an American soldier has been killed by a roadside bomb in central Baghdad.

An improvised explosive device struck the soldier's vehicle during operations on Wednesday, the military said.

Thursday's announcement raises to 18 the number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq since Sunday.

MND-B Soldier dies of non-combat related cause (Baghdad)

Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – A Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldier died from non-combat related injuries at approximately 6:30 a.m. April 9.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.

The incident is under investigation.

we just need a little more time with the surge to see its true full effects...

you can't put a timeframe on progress...

no, we won't show any caskets on TV...there are no dead to most Americans, just numbers...
