Bush says no plans to attack Iran: interview
Source: AFP

~snip~

Questioned during an interview with ABC television whether his intention was to not attack Iran, Bush replied: "Exactly" -- although he refused to rule out the use of force altogether.

~snip~

Bush said he was not planning an attack, adding: "I'm chuckling, because, you know, from my perch, my perspective, these rumors happen all the time ... I wouldn't say they're amusing. It's part of the job, I guess."

The president accuses Iran of seeking nuclear weapons and arming and funding groups fighting US forces in Iraq.

And he made clear in the interview that he would act to protect Americans or Iraqis from Iranian actions in neighboring Iraq.

"The message to the Iranians is: we will bring you to justice if you continue to try to infiltrate, send your agents or send surrogates to bring harm to our troops and/or the Iraqi citizens," he said.

Asked to elaborate on this "justice," Bush replied: "It means capture or kill, is what that means."

Kind of like the way he was going to capture Osama What's His Name.

4. Thank God Bush is so trustworthy
Among other gems:

We don't torture

We don't want a war with Iraq unless all diplomatic routes have expired, and we want the intel agencies to do their jobs

We got no warnings about a terror attack like 9/11, nobody could've conceived it (except the FBI, CIA, 14+ foreign countries, etc)

To his credit, he did say there wouldn't be a draft and so far there hasn't been one.

5. His "perch;" his "perspective"
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 05:26 PM by Th1onein
is always above us, you know. Because he and his clan are just so much above the rest of us lowly Americans who, after all, have to be hit by a hurricane and lose everything we hold dear, to have things just be "working out" for us, as his mommy said. What was it she called us? "Underprivileged?"

Anyway, I'm sure there's lots of words for what we are--poor, less than super rich, MIDDLE class.....but they'll always be above us, those Bushies, won't they? I bet you they think of themselves as the ruling class.

What fucks; what godawful people are in the White House right now. Pfew! I can't WAIT til they are voted out, or thrown out.

6. "but they'll always be above us,"
Personally, I hope I live to see the day they're 6 feet below us. Preferably after being brought to justice, and buried in an unmarked grave, though that would make it hard to piss on.

Not having a plan didn't stop him when he invaded Iraq.

11. My thought as well - planning is not a precursor to action, in this administration...

12. This could be true. They never actually have PLANS for anything.
They'll attack Iran, and just make it all up as they go along.

13. He's telling the enemy his plans ...

<sarcasm>
OMG, he's telling the enemy what his plans are. Now Iran can act with impunity without the threat of US retaliation
</sarcasm> :puke:

Translation, the Iran bashing isn't working any more. The US citizenry KNOW that the military is broken and incapable of conducting warfare on a new front. So now I'll play it Mr. Cool.

Either that or 10 Republican Senators made it be known that if he starts a war with Iran, they will vote to remove his ass from office.
