GOP Rep.: Revoke Jimmy Carter's Passport For Hamas Visits
Source: RawStory

"He's just unilaterally going off on his own and undermining everything the international community and the United States is (sic) trying to do," protested Republican U.S. House Rep. Sue Myrick (NC-09) today in the call to revoke the passport of former president Jimmy Carter.

Myrick also wants taxpayer funds to the Carter Center, which conducts humanitarian efforts worldwide, severed. "Why," the lawmaker asks, "should we support his center when he will not support his government?"

"Frankly," the lawmaker said, "I wanted to send a strong message, because we have a policy in this country about Hamas, and he is just deliberately undermining that policy, and it's wrong.

"You know, Hamas has continually stood for terrorism against peace, and the State Department, the administration Israel all opposed him going over there to meet."

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the United States, Canada, Israel and Japan.

2. They're terrified he'll be effective and broker another lasting peace
After all, he's the only one who has ever managed that in the Middle East. Since peace represents bad economic times for arms sellers, it's the last thing any of them or their bought and paid for Congresscritters wants.

The right has no shortage of dull witted ranters who will continue to carry water for the war industry.

5. You are exactly correct
They can not have peace! Peace means a smaller bank account to them.

I applaud President Carter. He is a true statesman and a man of peace.

Sue, my fortunately ex-neighbor can STFU!

4. But this GOP Rep is doing great work: Myrick gives Ric Flair a congressional 'whooo'
Here is a transcript of the speech Rep. Sue Myrick made Tuesday on the U.S. House floor in honor of wrasslin' great Ric Flair:

Thank you Mr. Speaker

I would like to honor the career of a man whom I am proud to call both a constituent and a friend.

Ric Flair's professional wrestling career of 36 years, in which he entertained millions of people around the world, recently came to a close.

He will forever be known as an innovator, a pioneer, and perhaps the greatest that his industry has ever seen. By any standard, Ric Flair is a living legend.

His name is recognized all over the world, but he calls Charlotte, NC home.

On his way to being named a record 16-time world champion, Flair became famous for his bleached blond hair, designer suits, and charismatic on-stage persona, while dishing out his trademark chops-and of course, the dreaded Figure Four Leglock.

On March 29, 2008, Ric Flair became the first active wrestler to ever be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Often imitated, but never duplicated, Ric Flair's legacy will forever be synonymous with the world of professional wrestling.

6. Sue Myrick is the second-biggest idiot...
In our (North Carolina's) Conrgessional delegation nowadays; only Patrick McHenry (what a travesty that his name is so close to that of a true patriot) of the 10th District is a bigger kook.

I think she should have all the funds of her district office in Charlotte cut off; but then, maybe that's just me!:eyes:

B-)

or dyed his hair blond, he would be able to win the eternal adulation of the "Honorable" Congresswoman from North Carolina.

Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 01:44 AM by ReadTomPaine
this time with a full retinue of retired, high profile democratic diplomats. Broker the talks so the incoming President has the democratic peace plan waiting for him, and ignore the current administration entirely.

Neuter them in front of the world.

Carter can get his revenge for the original October surprise.

14. Sue Myrick : founder of the Anti-Jihad Caucus
(snip)

One tireless watchdog is Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., who earlier this year founded the Anti-Terrorism/Jihad Caucus to educate fellow lawmakers and Americans in general about the threat from militant Islam.

(snip)

The media and academia have whitewashed jihad or ducked the issue entirely, petrified as they are of looking intolerant toward Muslims. Meantime, well-funded apologists such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations have gone on the offensive against the few critics who have spoken out, further confusing Americans about the gravity of the threat.

"The jihadists have become incredibly advanced in their public relations efforts," Myrick lamented. And we have limited tools to counteract their propaganda, thanks to institutionalized religious tolerance even for creeds hostile to our way of life.

The Anti-Jihad Caucus dares to right that imbalance. Its main goal is to educate members of Congress about the Islamic threat so they can talk candidly to their constituents about it. Myrick has already recruited more than 80 members to join her — including even some Democrats, such as Bud Cramer of Alabama and Ben Chandler of Kentucky.

(snip)

Another group is challenging Islamic apologists and terror supporters on college campuses. Led by Daniel Pipes, a Mideast scholar, Campus Watch seeks to expose professors who gloss over the religious roots of jihad and blame America and Israel for Islamic violence.

If she gets mentioned in the same breath as Daniel Pipes that's all I need to know about her.

23. I have a better idea. Take Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, Addington and Rice's passports
away--and a few others--and prosecute them for war crimes, with no escape.

If leftist Fernando Lugo wins the Paraguay election this Sunday--and he is ahead in the polls--escape to Paraguay will likely be cut off. They will have few options then--maybe the UAE? Saudi Arabia? Real fun places. But we can stop this whole exodus of the mass murderers, torturers and mindboggling looters of the public treasury in one fell swoop--by pulling their passports. Then, heh-heh. First, get our money back (as much as possible). Second, think up some great punishments. (My favorite: Life sentence cleaning bedpans in veterans' hospitals.) (I'm not really the capital punishment type--wasted effort--evil just comes back into the world, magnified. Better to cleanse the criminal with appropriate service.) Third, oh, yeah, investigations, trials. We must resist the temptation to just toss them into Guantanamo Bay and throw away the key, like they do. And we really shouldn't push this responsibility off on the Hague. It is our responsibility. And we can regain much of the esteem of the world that the Bushites have trashed--and that Jimmy Carter is working to restore--by showing the world how it's done, and by doing it right.

Thank you, Sue Myrick! Great idea! Can we pull Congress critters' passports, too? Probably not. But then...

We are the sovereign people of this land, and we issue passports, like we charter corporations, at our will. Remember that, dear.
