Nunn And Boren Back Obama
By Greg Sargent - April 18, 2008, 12:45PM
Former Senators Sam Nunn and David Boren, in a joint statement, throw their support to Obama -- giving him two high-profile southerners that are both key foreign policy voices in the Democratic Party.

Both will serve on Obama's national security team, giving the Obama camp an effective weapon against the Hillary campaign's claims that Obama has not passed the "commander in chief test." ...more at link....

11. This says a lot...
...Don't know how much attention folks have been paying to Sam Nunn these days but for him to come out for Obama is significant. Based on some of his comments and/or positions he's been taking over the past few years - albeit not a lot of public pronouncements - I would have thought he'd have come out for McCain. Like most of Georgia, and indeed some of our, so-called, Democrats, Sam has tended to have some Republican-like leanings - not Zell Miller mind you, but to the right of center. His open endorsement of Barack will make more than a few Georgians start to think a bit instead of just a knee-jerk comment that 'a black man can't get elected President'.
