Mugabe's party wins first recount
Source: BBC

Zimbabwe's ruling party has been confirmed as the winner of the first of 23 constituencies to complete a recount of votes after March's election.

The electoral commission said Zanu-PF retained its parliamentary seat in Goromonzi West.

The opposition Movement for Democratic Change has dismissed the recounts as an attempt to rig the election and overturn its parliamentary majority.

The results of the presidential election have still to be announced.

1. Zanu-PF will never step down quietly.
It looks like Mugabe is stepping up to commit another genocide as well (not his first btw). Now there's a man who's assassination I could totally get behind.

5. There's no food in Zimbabwe, so the citizens are fleeing
scared shitless to stay, and scared to find a hole in the razor fence. Nobody is left to say hey, why wasn't that vote counted? Fascist Pigs.

6. No doubt this is a portend of our own coming 2008 election shenanigans...

Our current oppressors don't seem likely to just walk away if their crimes look like they will catch up with them.

It has to be McLame or Billery or there is going to be a disaster requiring a political hiatus.

We can only hope that Obama is actually any different under the his PR (Public Relations) patina/veneer of "change" and "hope".

We are definitely poised and ready for another debacle like those occurring during/after the two previous presidential elections.

Why would they stop now? Who is going to stop them?

The AmeriKKKan sheeple?

Fat chance our brother and sister sloths will get stirred up to resist unless food gets real scarce or there is a real catalyst, like all TV broadcasting ceases, now that would be a disaster...

Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 12:57 PM by Mudoria
where you could rant about AmeriKKKan sheeple, Bush, Hillary or whatever else you're raging about at the moment. This thread was about the situation in Zimbabwe... which is what I wanted to read about... until you showed up..

Mugabe and his thugs and already starting to "fix" the results with their phony recount. The South African President needs to step down, and someone with a more aggressive approach needs to take his place.
