Libya Asks Arab League to Cut Diplomatic Relations with Bulgaria

Libya has called on other Arab countries to cut diplomatic and economic ties with Bulgaria, Reuters reported.

The demand is due to the pardoned six Bulgarian medics that Libya had jailed accusing them for infecting hundreds of children with HIV, a news Web site said on Friday.

London-based Arabic online newspaper Libya al-Youm (Libya Today) reported that Libya asked for an urgent meeting of the Arab League to see if it can take a united decision to cut all diplomatic relations with Bulgaria - financial and economic.

Now that roughly half a billion dollars has been paid as ransom to Libya for the foreigners they kidnapped (who actually went to Libya to help this country) the Libyans have decided that it's about time to punish the victims of their crimes. Strange new world we're living in ...

The lawyer of the Palestinian doctor told Reuters on Tuesday the doctor was tortured into confessing he deliberately infected the children and that he planned to a complain to a United Nations human rights panel.
Gadaffi's son confirmed the allegation of torture in an interview with Qatar-based al-Jazeera television.
