Source: Associated Press

CAMARILLO, Calif. - The national average price for regular gasoline rose about 15 cents in the last two weeks, according to a survey.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline on Friday was $3.62 a gallon, up 15 cents from two weeks ago. Mid-grade was at $3.74 and premium was $3.85. That's all according to the Lundberg Survey of 7,000 stations nationwide released Sunday.

Regular gasoline is up 55 cents since 2008 began.

Of the cities surveyed, the cheapest price was in Cheyenne, Wyo., where a gallon of regular cost $3.39, on average. The highest average was in San Francisco at $3.95.

1. I don't understand why it varies so much within a state
In one town here, all the stations are about $3.69. If I go to the next large town they can be 15 cents cheaper. I swear there's price fixing going on.

2. I wonder if this spike had anything to do with the ever so slight upward...
...turn in our economy numbers last week. Oil companies are making out like bandits.

4. Locally, price down (KS)
When I filled up Friday, the price was the same as the week before $3.449. I noticed last night, coming home, that the price was down to 3.399.

5. Preparation for McCain's suggested 18 cent gas tax holiday?
Remember, it was McCain's idea first ... with no plan to pay for the infrastructure ... period ...

6. So, with the McCain/Hillary 18 cents/gal Gas Tax Holiday we COULD be
at the price of gas a 3 full weeks ago. Now that'd be some major savings because 3 weeks ago we Americans were buying gas without a care in the world because it was so cheap. Now look at it, and Barack won't go along because he cares about silly things like "infrastructure" and "road repairs" and the "jobs" that would be lost from a Gas Tax Holiday. He's pandering to workers and their jobs when right now he should be pandering to voters like Hillary is.:eyes:
