EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Barack Obama defeated Hillary Rodham Clinton on Tuesday in the North Carolina primary, ensuring a split decision in the last two big-delegate states left in their marathon race for the Democratic presidential nomination, NBC News projected.

In the other state, Indiana, the race was too early to call.

they called NC the minute the polls closed :party:
ticker says still 0% in and it's a "decisive victory"

and i haven't heard them say "too close to call" about indiana but rather "to soon to call."
