Idaho Dems miffed at Bill Clinton's comments
Source: Times News

Idaho Democrats sounded off Wednesday against former President Bill Clinton and his campaign comments about Gem State politics.

Clinton, while campaigning in Indiana for his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, was quoted in national media as saying she would "bag" No Child Left Behind laws.

"Every time I say this, it's a guaranteed applause line," he said. "You can drop me in the middle of Idaho where there's not a Democrat in 200 miles and an elk would applaud me on that."

Idaho Democrats called Clinton's comments an insult. They said the state party is making a comeback - after suffering setbacks during Clinton's two terms in office.

"If Bill Clinton had done for elk in Idaho everything he did for Democrats, we'd have far fewer elk," said Idaho Democratic Party Chairman Keith Roark - an uncommitted superdelegate - Wednesday morning.

4. No... there's no truth in them.
The Dems ARE making a comeback in Idaho. And, as we can see from his words, we made the right decision in denying(in a huge way) our state to Hillary. We would have been ignored during the GE.

Barack has a chance in Idaho. I know it sounds like a fairy tale...but he really does.

6. Geeze
is he trying to piss off Idaho too? Bill, I thought you wanted her to win. Dang he's really off his game, or maybe he's been out of it too long and doesn't realize the game changed.

9. The game has indeed changed a lot since he first entered politics.
Considering his numerous gaffes lately, I am concerned about his health, and wonder if he is subconsciously trying to sabotage Hillary's chances. This seems to happen to politicians of all stripes these days. They make outrageous statements that would have slipped by twenty years ago; but they seem to have forgotten about the existence of video tape and the internet.

Sounds like he's no fan of the Clintons.

11. After seeing him standing behind Hillary
at her Indiana "victory" speech, I'd have to guess that he's quite ill. His cheeks were beet red and he had big whitish stripes beneath his eyes. He looked like he was exhausted and nearly going to sleep on his feet. I suspect that his heart problems have affected his thinking. My Mr also has heart problems and his thought processes sometimes aren't as clear as they used to be.

Not only did Bill look sick, but he looked really depressed. One of the talking heads mentioned that Chelsea looked devastated and he figured from the way she looked that the end of the campaign was near. They always say they are staying in even if they are dropping out. Like Edwards saying he was going to take it right to the convention then dropping out the next day. Maybe Clinton's heart just isn't in it for this reason.

13. The DNC under Clinton/mcauliffe
did ignore states like Idaho - no money; low population; no big prize in the electoral college. The DNC was actively marginalizing those states. It took Howard Dean to invite those states into the tent. Dean is 10X the chair mcauliffe ever hoped to be.

14. The Clintons wrecked the Democratic Party in the Mountain West ,the Great Plains and the South
During the Clinton years the party hemmoraged in states like Idaho, Kansas and Texas. In fact, even in the states we now call "blue" states the party only treaded water during the Clinton years.

16. Oh please, they need to take a chill pill
The chances of any Idaho Dem presidential candidate winning this century is zero. It is the deepest of red states. What's next, Utah Democrats pissed? West Village Republicans?
