5. Actually, NH is the FIRST STATE to PASS such legislation. We can now introduce the Articles
To the House of Reps in the U.S. Congress.

16. Maine's 2006 state Democratic convention...
...passed a similar resolution.

Neither 'first', nor 'legislation'.

3. You have not lived until you've heard a white-haired, former Republican, little-old-lady...
Edited on Sun May-18-08 05:47 AM by Tesha
standing at the microphone of a Democratic state
convention singing, full throated, Rebecca McCall's
song (often sung by Noel Paul Stookey) Impeach
the Bastards
.

We sat next to this aforementioned LOL throughout
the day and I kept reminding Mr. Tesha that he'd
promised to be on his good behavior and not say
anything *TOO* embarrassing, what with me being
a shy little church mouse and all. But then, lo-
and-behold, from a completely unexpected quarter
comes our neighbor, supporting the final action
of the day (in her most amazing way), the reso-
lution to encourage the NH Democratic Party to
*FINALLY* support the impeachment of the criminals.

It was truly astounding, and the resolution,
opposed by two to one among the party's resolution
committee, instead passed the body of the convention
by nearly two to one.

And I give all the credit to our very brash
LOL, former Republican neighbor.

Brava! Nice singing!

Tesha

10. Nancy, follow Betty's lead!
One has to wonder why Nancy Pelosi has not moved in this direction. Republicans had no problem drawing up articles of impeachment against Bill Clinton, with far weaker grounds.

11. Exactly! Just think about that for a sec...
Sometimes I think that Pelosi N' Pals haven't followed up on impeachment because they don't want to seem like the Repubs. If that's their reasoning, they're gravely mistaken. If EVER in the history of the United States of America there needed to be impeachment of our president it's NOW! Or, more exactly, about 4 years ago. I think Pelosi should be voted out of office for what she's failed to do.

19. You would think that Bush was in the 70% "favorable" category...
by the timidity of Pelosi and her Congressional sheep. The voters want Congress to demonstrate that a balance of powers still exists in this country. Congress rates low on opinion polls precisely because its Democratic members are not doing what we elected them to do in November '06. Republicans have lost in three special elections in predominantly Republican districts in Illinois, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Voters are sending the message that getting tough on Bush and his neo-con thugs is politically advantageous. ARE YOU LISTENING, NANCY?

25. Conflict Aversion
The leadership of the NHDP is extraordinarily conflict-averse. If there is the slightest whiff of controversy, the chair and his allies will try and steer clear of a public discussion. It's not a left/right issue so much as it is an approach to politics.
