(Warren) Buffett says he prefers a Democrat for president
Source: AP

FRANKFURT, Germany - Billionaire investor Warren Buffett said Monday he would be happy if either Barack Obama or Hillary Rodham Clinton were the Democratic nominee because both have what it takes to be president.

Buffett, who dubbed himself "a political bigamist," explained that he told both candidates that they would have his support when they were deciding to run for president. Buffett was in Frankfurt as part of a European tour to check out possible acquisitions for Omaha, Nebraska-based Berkshire Hathaway Inc., of which he is chairman and chief executive.

"I told both Hillary and Barack I'd support them, and I'd be equally happy if either of them were the nominee," he said. "Barack appears to have the nomination."

As for Republican John McCain, Buffett described him as a "first-class human being. I think he's admirable. I don't agree with him as much as I agree with Barack. I think the U.S. will do well over time whether the president becomes Barack or John McCain."

3. Yes. This is an example that not all rich people are elitist
Elitism is not about what you have, but about how you view the have-nots.

And I don't think Obama or Hillary or Edwards are elitist. Bush is a good example of elitist politician.

6. Buffet was Schwarznegger's first state financial consultant
But Arni had to dump him, when Buffet admitted his somewhat more modest Colorado mansion paid far more in taxes than his more extragavant mansion in west LA. Arni did not like that. Buffet was sacked within months of Arni becoming governor.

9. Oh he wants to get richer
But Democrats are better for business.

Who wants the stability of the market when you can have the assured economy of millions with jobs (and paychecks).

8. Yep - Democrats are good for business
Every Democrat from FDR on was good for business (with the exception of Carter - and that wasn't his fault)

2. All investors with brains and memories want a Democratic president
because all of them know that the markets do much better under Democratic leadership and that the last round of tax cuts weakened the country's financial state so much that they've all lost a good portion of their net worth due to the subsequent fall in the dollar.

4. CNN's headline says: Buffet supporting Obama
Edited on Mon May-19-08 04:27 PM by blayne
(CNN) — Warren Buffet, a longtime friend of both Hillary and Bill Clinton, told CNN Monday Barack Obama would be his choice for the next President of the United States.

Speaking with CNN's Becky Anderson, the billionaire investor said he would gladly vote for either candidate, but said it is clear the senator from Illinois will be the party's nominee.

"So it would be Barack Obama, — would be my preference," Buffet said.

10. Uh-oh. He's going to be skewered by Big Media
The don't think rich people voting (D) is allowed. PGA golfer David Duval had to defend himself on national TV for being a registered Dem. George Soros is considered a traitor to his class.

12. Because most of them grew up as members of country clubs
and wouldn't know which of a broom to hold if the floor needed sweeping.

13. I thought a good number of them
were middle class and worked their way to pro. It does burnn me as I just started golf last year and i saw a show on Nicklaus and he was talking aboutn how he watched O'Reilly. Sad news.

What is one thing Greg Norman and I have in common? Neither of us have won the Masters. A question I would ask, if I ever met him, freakin' scumbag.

17. In the olden days, many grew up as CADDIES at the CC
Now nearly all were members growing up. That's not to say that they don't work hard at their jobs and have to stay on top to make gobs of money, but their idea of "work" is different from someone who works two jobs to afford junior college RN certification.

Their united front against Casey Martin a few years ago really showed their elitist outlook on life. Martin is crippled and used the Americans with Disabilities Act to gain the right to compete on the tour with a cart. To a man the PGA was outraged that Martin would be allowed to compete with "assistance". Meanwhile they all teed off that weekend using eyeglasses, golf gloves, spiked shoes, and all other manner of assistance.

Also, you recall the uproar when the Ryder Cup team didn't want to visit the White House in 93 because they didn't want to hand out with a "draft dodger". Now they're all chummy with the current resident of the WH - a deserter who's never made an honest buck in his life.
