Blasts wound six US marines, kill seven Iraqi civilians

FALLUJAH, Iraq (AFP) - A roadside blast wounded six US marines and killed their Arabic translator in the Sunni town of Fallujah on Friday, the US military said as six other people died in a car bombing in the area.

"A Marine patrol was attacked by an improvised explosive device this morning," the US military said in a statement. "One interpreter was killed, and there were six marines wounded."

The attack took place in the same area where the Iraqi police said a suicide car bomber killed six civilians and wounded four more earlier Friday.
