Former press secretary's book bashes Bush
Source: Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan writes in a new memoir that President Bush relied on an aggressive "political propaganda campaign" instead of the truth to sell the Iraq war, it has been reported.

The Bush White House made "a decision to turn away from candor and honesty when those qualities were most needed" — a time when the nation was on the brink of war, McClellan writes in the book entitled "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception."

4. Who took bush's lies and propaganda to the people of America, Scott?
That was you, Scott. Typical republican; do the wrong thing, KNOWING you're doing the wrong thing, but it's Party Uber Alles, Fuck We The People.

And then tell the truth after it's far too late.

Even worse, of course, are the rightwingnut freeper types who will yet again totally ignore yet more proof of the horrors bush has committed and simply attack McClellan for being a "traitor" and "un-American" et-fucking-cetera.

6. Don't need to go there to know; "Traitor!!! Un-American!!! He should be lynched!!!"
Etc etc etc.

The rightwingnut way of life:

It isn't the act of torture...it's the photos!!!

It isn't the war crimes...it's telling the truth about the war crimes!!!

7. Actually no.............
I saw this on FR, and it made me smile :

"Ah yes, the late lamented Scott McLellan.

I remember the chap - the little squinty eyes, the rotund visage, the sweaty brow, the constant look of fear in his eyes.

I used to devour clips of him at the podium - I never knew whether to feel embarrassed for the man, or to split my sides laughing at him.

Now, he’s a bit short of cash, so he’s written a book telling everyone how terrible it all was and that he was complicit in nothing, how he was a powerless pawn, forced to spew evasive drivel at journalists day after day.

And HE’s telling journalists they didn’t ask hard enough questions ?!

Ha ha ha."

It got a few nods of assent too from fellow Freepers.

Could have been written on DU.
