(R-NE)Hagel Says McClellan's Book 'Right On'
Edited on Wed May-28-08 05:56 PM by maddezmom
Source: KETV

Sen. Chuck Hagel said Scott McClellan's new book is right on.

McClellan is the former press secretary for President George W. Bush.

His new book is critical of the Bush Administration and its tactics leading up to the Iraq war.

"These are things I've been talking about for some time now and in some cases I have been reviled and ridiculed by my own party for even suggesting such things," Hagel said.

"I saw this. I was just one of the few that said something about it."

with him about most issues but I think he is honest which is a rare thing to find in a republican.

28. DO NOT TRUST CHUCK HAGEL!

"He also served as a Chairman and was CEO of American Information Systems Inc. (AIS), a voting machine manufacturer, until its name-change to Election Systems & Software (ES&S) in 1997. He had ownership interest in ES&S through its parent company The McCarthy Group as of January 29, 2003"

5. I am wondering what is up with Hagel.
Edited on Wed May-28-08 05:52 PM by madaboutharry
He has a very conservative voting record. He suspiciously owned the voting machines that counted the votes in his first election to the Senate. And now it is almost as if he is experiencing an Arianna Huffington epiphany.

Gee, you know Scottie is starting to sound like a disgruntled, left-wing blogger. They
keep to the theme of attacking the person not dealing with the facts. Great American
Hypocrites ride again. Nice to have Chuck confirm what really happened.

42. That's kind of my thinking as well
I agree that it's hypocritical of these guys to try to excuse themselves from their complicity in the lies that so many recognized for what they were. At the same time, history is being constantly re-written by politicians, e.g., Reagan won the Cold War, the invasion of Iraq was never about WMDs, but was always about liberating the people of Iraq, and so on. And, incredibly, there are a great many American sheeple totally ready to swallow the ever changing lies being told to them. So anything that gets at least some portion of the truth out there to the public seems like a blessing.

45. I wouldn't count on Tony Snow turning honest any time soon.
I hope he has a full recovery, but Tony Snow is part of the pack. You could always tell how awkward McClellen felt about tossing out administration BS. Snow had a natural talent for it and was clearly the "best" press secretary for that particular skill set.
