U.S. House passes Iraq war funds bill backed by Bush (no withdrawal deadline)

WASHINGTON, June 19 (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday approved enough new money to wage wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for another year, while abandoning attempts to set deadlines opposed by President George W. Bush for withdrawing American combat troops.

By a vote of 268-155, the House approved the funding for the two wars. Most of the $161.8 billion the Pentagon will get, which is slightly less than Bush requested, will be used to fight in Iraq.

The measure, which the Bush administration backed, is expected to be debated by the Senate within several days. It was not yet clear whether the Senate would amend the bill.

Some Democrats expressed frustration with an inability to force troop withdrawals from Iraq, despite their party's majority status in the House.

"Let us hope this is the last time another dollar will be spent without constraint, without conditions," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat who opposes the Iraq war.

13. Perhaps someday someone will explain to us why the House of
Representatives has seemed to be the administration's ally.

14. If you remember NANCY . . .. .

Someone made some different facts of life clear to her, IMO --

Not that I think Pelosi is some courageous, self-sacrificing leader ---

BUT . . . there's film of Pelosi immediately after the '06 election SAYING clearly
that this election is about the voters putting us here to END THE WAR IN IRAQ!!!!

*********************************************************************************

It's clear that was dropped like a ticking grenade ---

THEN, we had re-funding the war . . . BUT THERE WOULD BE RESTRICTIONS WHICH WOULD MAKE
ALL THE DIFFERENCE, I.E., DATES FOR WITHDRAWAL, ETC.

All of that was also dropped ---

LATER, AS BUSH BEGAN TO THREATEN IRAN, PELOSI IMPOSED A 'NO ATTACK ON IRAN' DEMAND
IN THE LEGISLATION . . . ALSO DROPPED
**************************************

AND ABOVE ALL, PELOSI'S FIRST WORDS WERE . . .

"IMPEACHMENT IS OFF THE TABLE" --

My question is, who asked Pelosi the question about impeachment?
Who did she discuss her comment with?
And since impeachment is part of the Constitution and oath --
did she take the Constitution off the table, as well?

Now, with no time left, Pelosi is funding the war again with no restrictions whatsoever!!!

Is Pelosi turning her own head, or is someone doing it for her?

15. The Democratic Opposition party has just given up.
What other crap are the repukes and the bushes going to push through Congress now that they know the weak kneed opposition is to tired to fight? Maybe the bush could get another war through, maybe with Iran; or a declaration that all Unions are terrorists. How about if they just declared the bushes King? I'm sure the republicans will be forever grateful and let the Democratic House of Wimps, I mean Representatives, sit at the King's table.
