Obama: There needs to be a sense of urgency
Source: CNN

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sen. Barack Obama said lawmakers will eventually agree on a bailout plan but said that there needs to be a "sense of urgency for everybody."

Obama told CNN after a White House meeting that some progress was made Thursday but he was concerned that the attendance of the two presidential hopefuls in the negotiations could cause problems.

"I've been concerned for some time that when you start interjecting presidential politics into delicate negotiations, you could actually create more problems than less," Obama said. "It is amazing what you can get done when the cameras are not on and people are not looking to get credit or allocate blame."

2. I feel a sense of urgency NOT to give billions to grifters
Edited on Thu Sep-25-08 10:44 PM by ixion
I would rather pay off everyone's mortgage than see this go through. At least doing that would have a positive effect. All this does is tuck billions away in the coffers of those who created the trouble.

4. exactly-- congressional dems are screwing this up by rushing to make it happen....
This bail out is thinly veiled robbery. NPR reported tonight that the cost to EVERY American family would be about $10,000 dollars if the current plan is accepted.

I DO NOT CONSENT!

3. This is why candidates should resign from office in order to run for president
If it's a sense of urgency then everyone who has the responsibllity to make the decision need to be on board. The only way to make sure this doesn't happen (and bypasses such things as McCain's current grandstanding) is to require candidates to resign from the House or the Senate when they become a candidate.

5. His coming back put a monkey wrench into it.
So NOW the rethugs have a reason to back out and figure out how to keep more of the money, but still LOOK like they are doing it FOR the people instead of TO the people.

I think they REALLY needed Obama back because he's the only one who has made suggestions that work and they need to be able to STEAL those ideas while pretending they came from McCain.

After all, he liked CHANGE we can BELIEVE IN so much he stole that.
