Va. GOP chief: Obama ("is a terrorist") remark was stupid; no apology
Source: AP

RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia Republican Chairman Jeff Frederick says it was stupid to suggest Barack Obama is a terrorist, but he defends the comment as true and won't apologize.

During the campaign, Frederick told a small group of Republican volunteers that "both Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden have friends that have bombed the Pentagon."

The remark was a reference to Obama's ties years ago to 1960s-era radical William Ayers. It was published in Time magazine and provoked condemnation from Democrats and Republicans.

Before a panel of Associated Press newspaper editors Tuesday, Frederick was asked about it. He said it was "a stupid joke" but also added that "what I said was true."

2. Would have been true if he included bush
let's see, bush pals around with saudis, and most the 911's came from saudi arabia.

12. Not only that
Bush's have been palling around with the bin Ladens for years. They even had one spend the night on 9/11 in the White House. Remember Fahrenheit 9/11 he was recalling himself and Bush on the balcony watching the smoke from the Pentagon. No terrorist ties there though.
Besides Bush didn't need bin Laden to do 9/11 they handled it themselves.

6. No, it isn't
I lived there for more than a decade, and where I lived voted +75% for Kerry. Many, many, many other parts of VA are blue or heavily pruple. Who won VA in November?

Certain people and certain areas don't damn a state.

15. Didn't Sarah Palin explain that's not the "real Virginia?"
You know, not the "American" part. Even if it is the majority of the state now.

5. Mark of a true, loyal repug/neocon/fascist party member.....
NEVER, NEVER admit to a mistake. NEVER, and I do mean NEVER offer an apology for any dumb ass thing you are responsible for.

This is the mark of a true repug/neocon/fascist. Remember...up is down, black is white, good is bad, etc, etc. These ass holes are in a totally different world than reality. And THEY think the liberal are drinking kool-aid? Oh please!

13. What an @ss.
I know people who have met the Dalai Lama and the Pope. Does that make me a spiritual leader? I've met Donovan and Arlo Guthrie. Does that make me a songwriter?

Condi herself mentioned recently that her family knew Stokely Carmichael back in the '60s (I think that was whom she said), and would herself been vulnerable to the same sort of attacks that our Barack was.

16. If you can see Russia from your house, does that make you an expert in foreign affairs?
If you've been part-time mayor of a town of less than 7,000, does that give you the kind of executive experience to be president? If you supported, and even campaigned for, the worst president ever, and then run for president yourself four years later, does that mean you can't run as a "reform" candidate?

(This is fun. It could go on for a while.)

Oh, one more. If you've met Jeff Frederick, does it mean you're an obnoxious idiot?

14. what evidence does this jerk have to support this slander?
none.

If anything, Frederick probably has ties to domestic terrorists (you know, the ones with the white sheets and pointy hats hanging in their closets) in his own family.

18. It's interesting that he feels the need to backtrack even that much
If McCain/PALIN had won, he'd be boasting about his stupid joke. Defeat has allowed that much reality to sink in for Republicans, that at least they can see something they did was stupid. Maybe next week he'll admit supporting George Bush all those years was stupid. . . . Nah. Then he might feel guilty about all that damage to America and the world. If he wants to sleep at night, he's gotta keep rationalizing some stupidity.
