Leading Democrat: Bush 'the worst president we've ever had' {Reid}
Source: CNN

From CNN Associate Producer Martina Stewart

WASHINGTON (CNN) – As the nation prepares for the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama, a leading Democrat is not letting up in his criticism of President George W. Bush.

“I really do believe President Bush is the worst president we’ve ever had,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Reid pointed to Bush’s failed plan to privatize the Social Security program and also said Bush “has done his very best to destroy Medicare” in order support his assessment of Bush’s presidency.
***
“I think you just have to call things the way you see them.”

1. ironic, given the seemingly endless number of times he's covered and/or agreed with him
Reid is a disgrace, even though he's correct about * being the worst ever.

3. Reid is not a liar, a theif, or a hypocrite
So calling him a "disgrace" is inappropriate. "Disgrace" would be appropriate for a party leader like Republican Newt Gingerich in his time as Speaker.

Reid certainly is ineffectual. I cannot think of any issue that he has ever led on or tried to "build a movement on" for the sake of his party or for America.

20. I think "disgrace" fits pretty well. When he had the chance to lead
the resistance against some of this administrations very worst crimes, not only did he not lift a finger in protest, but he stood aside and let the Republicans walk all over him. He and Pelosi have not denied Bush anything he's ever demanded, even with a Democratic majority. Motherfuck Harry Reid and his candy-ass leadership. He might as well be listed as Harry Reid (R-NV).

4. Well, there were only two to choose from , the other was Daschle of South Dakota
So the label of which of the two is hardly a notable distinction in any sense.

10. So what is the news here?
That Bush is the worst president ever or that someone said it? Is there any valid argument at all against the huge mountain of evidence that Bush is the worst president ever? So that must not be the news. Is it the news that someone spoke of a very inconvenient truth? It needs to quit being inconvenient to speak of Bush as the worst ever. Only after it is widely acknowledged can we move forward. As long as the deniers are given credibility we will never move forward. Denying Bush as the worst ever is no less a moral crime than denying the Holocaust.

11. That must be why you kept caving into him when he wanted legislation passed Harry
It's easy to come out and be bold when your opponent is days away from leaving office and a new Democratic President is taking over.

13. Weren't there DLC'ers that supported privatizing social security?
Please correct me if I am wrong.

And Democrats were enablers of BUSH in many of his failed policies as well!!!

Senator Reid was such forceful resistance to this failed President I am sure things will all work out for the better now that Reid will have more Democrats in the Senate.

Prediction: The lack of 60 Democratic Senators will be the favorite excuse of not getting what is needed done in the next Congress.

15. It's too easy and too over-simplified to call him the "worst president ever"....
Bush is a war criminal; a thug and criminal - an abuser of power and an oppressor. So far beyond just being a bad president or even the worst president.

30. For a long time, I thought Bush wasn't quite as bad as Nixon or Johnson.
Then he brought on the current economic crisis, combining Hoover-style badness with the stink of the Vietnam War presidents. Mr. Bush, you are the champion! I salute you. Bush is the worst! Bush is the worst! Bush is the worst!
