CBS ChicagoThe hard work begins for the new governor of Illinois. Gov. Pat Quinn says his administration must rebuild the public's trust in government.
Quinn says he is assessing how much damage has been done in the state. He says that will help him determine how to move forward.
Pat Quinn was sworn in Thursday night after the state Senate removed Rod Blagojevich from office. The new governor spoke to reporters during a press conference Friday morning.
There is a lot on the new governor's plate, including billions of dollars in bills yet to be paid. Quinn asked to postpone his budget address for at least one month, and he has been granted that request.

Quinn announced that his first official action as governor was to move his recently created ethics commission under the watch of his new office.
Quinn formed the Illinois Reform Commission following the arrest of his predecessor Rod Blagojevich. It is headed by former federal prosecutor Patrick Collins, who helped convict former Gov. George Ryan of political corruption.
