In remarks at the Jewish Council for Public Affairs on Monday, Attorney General Eric Holder underscored the importance of protecting the nation and its citizens from acts of terrorism while abiding by “the letter and the spirit of our Constitution.”

“Some see tension between these two goals,” he said. “I — most emphatically — do not.”

Holder stressed that law enforcement must do everything possible to protect our nation from another terrorist attack while maintaining the country’s ideals.

“We must do everything in our power to thwart the evil aims of those who would do us harm,” he said. “But we must do so in a manner that preserves, protects and defends the rights that are enshrined in our Constitution and the rule of law itself.”

2. Soooo, when will he investigate and prosecute those that
abused their offices and violated our laws while trampling the constitution.

Preserve, protect and defend the rights that are enshrined in our Constitution and the rule of law itself, prosecute the bastards.

... instead of following the same pattern of usage of this anti-Democratic process that George Bush used at an unprecedented rate to keep his administration unaccountable to the American people.
