Thailand mulls reforming lese-majeste laws (insulting the Monarchy)
Source: ABC News

2. I knew a British guy...
who referred to one of the lesser royals as a lesbian and got reported by a business competitor. He got thrown in jail, but managed to leave Thailand when he was out on bail.

3. The whole concept of royalty is laughably outmoded.
It never had much real value to humanity, and is a pathetic, sometimes droll yet sometimes oppressive anachronism. It's way past time for all the royals in the world to get a real life. ;) It would indeed make the world a better place for the notions of royalty to fade into the mists of history, and for the world's gem-encrusted crown-headed popinjays to do something more productive with their time. :D

Some of those lavish robes would make cool stage gear, though...that would add a splash of the bizarre to bar gigs...hmmm... :D
