U.S. missile attack kills 5 in Pakistan
Source: Associated Press

The victims include two Arabs and three other people in border region

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan - A suspected US missile strike killed two Arabs and three other people in northwest Pakistan late Sunday, intelligence officials said, in the latest in a barrage of American attacks on suspected militant targets in the region.

Pakistan's border region with Afghanistan is home to scores of al-Qaida and Taliban militants and the United States is pressing Islamabad to do more to fight them. The remote lawless area is believed to be a likely hiding place for al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

Since last year, Washington has stepped up attacks by unmanned planes believed launched from bases in Afghanistan. It rarely acknowledges carrying out the attacks, which have killed many militants but angered Pakistan's government.

The identities of those killed in Sunday's attack were not immediately known, two intelligence officials said.

1. I am very against this.
I think it is murder and it is my strongest point of disagreement with President Obama's administration, along with the escalation of the undeclared war in Afghanistan.

3. There's a poll in GD - 'how do you rate Obama so far, 1-10?' This is about a -5 in my book.

If you consider George Bush a war criminal because of the warfare he spearheaded, then you must also consider whether Obama is, as well. And I didn't even think that one up - that was former Democratic Senator Fritz Hollings. No country should be expected to overlook and/or accept having their territory bombed and civilians killed by an outside state.

4. Exactly... can you imagine the outcry if Pakistan had launched a missle attack on the US?
Seriously. People would be screaming for blood. And yet those very same people stand there scratching their heads wondering why the rest of the world is pissed off at us.

And yes, this does mean that the Obama administration is guilty of war crimes, I'm sad to say.

Why the hell didn't he stop these? Why does he continue pursuing policies he knows lead to war crimes and crimes against humanity?

5. I don't know, but the longer he continues on this path, the more vocal I will be in my displeasure.
It needs to end ASAP.

7. So, uh, at what point is a missile strike an act of war?
And who are these intelligence officials who "suspect" the missiles belong to USA? ISI? CIA?
