BEIJING (AP) — Assailants threw a bomb into a newly built police station in a Tibetan area in western China, a police official said Tuesday, the 50th anniversary of the Dalai Lama's escape into exile in India after Chinese troops crushed a Tibetan revolt. No injuries were reported.

The incident came amid heightened tensions and security during a volatile month that also included the one-year anniversary of anti-government riots March 14 in Lhasa, Tibet's regional capital.
