Sacramento County restricts lap dancing

Officials said they were confident the new ordinance would stand up to legal challenges some opponents have threatened.

"It was tailored to dancing that is sexual in nature," said John Reed, deputy county counsel. He told the board that meant the ordinance wouldn't affect other businesses like magicians or theaters where performers might interact with the audience.

The board approved the ordinance 4-0. Supervisor Roberta MacGlashan was absent.

1. Can the Lambada (The Forbidden Dance) be far behind?
I'd prefer they restrict square dancing, on grounds of being so damn stupid, but that's just me...

2. As a Sac County resident all I can say is:WHADDACROCKOFSHIT!
So, these idiots are going take money out of people mouths and put more of the taxpayers money to pay for enforcement.

We are fucked.

'ya'll keep that durty dancin' in your pants, ya hear?'

11. From what I understand....
(and really, this is okay for The Bee to have just this blurb right now, tehy will get and in depth story when the night crew comes on and the paper is readied for publication).

From what I get from this is no physical contact with patrons. No sitting, no table dancing or lap dancing. not sure if it affects the dollar in the panites thing, but simply put, NO TOUCHING.
Next up no stripping. they ahve been at for years. First no alcohol if bottomless. Then zoning law changes (which they just tried to pass and failed......again)and now no lap dancing. next no nothing.

Another business gone to somewhere else. And more cops to police the new rules. STUPID.

13. Well, I'm against bottomless alcohol.
It just runs out on the bar and is wasted.

14. Article updated, says lap dancing will be limited to industrial zoned areas
Which parts of the lap are industrial zoned?

"Despite strip clubs' objections, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors voted today to limit lap dancing to industrial zoned areas."

18. So the three clubs on Auburn Blvd will have to close.
Three of the six in the county. They are also the three clubs in the City of Citrus Heights while the ones in the industrial part of town are in the county (except one in the city of Sacramento).

and really the Auburn Blvd locations are in teh dumpiest part of town and are almost industrial areas.

17. I don't know about this.
The strip clubs aren't exactly a haven for trouble any more than, say, a bar. I'm much more concerned about the labor practices for the people working their than anything else, such as location.

20. This is good, because now moral people can go to the strip clubs and...
ogle the naked dancers without being offended by the lap dancers. Makes sense to me.
