Eight die in Afghanistan attack
Source: BBC

Eight people have died in a suicide bomb attack on a police compound in southern Afghanistan, officials say.

The deaths came as a bomber wearing a police uniform detonated explosives inside Kandahar's district headquarters in Andar, AP news agency reported.

Three police and five civilians were killed in the blast, government spokesman Zalmay Ayubi told the agency.

The attack took place some 15km (10 miles) south of Kandahar city, a militant stronghold of the Taleban.

1. when people continue to become bombs, how
... will the world ever return to normalcy - egad. How did the Japanese suicidal Kamikaze mindset ever get reset? The Emperor, a single person, stopped it. It's like we need a prophet to appear from heaven to come down and tell these idiots to knock it off because it isn't a part of Islam - yet they use Holy War as their rationale. Anyone got an prophet costume lying around and want to give it a try?

2. I expect to get criticized for this, but when I read that people die violently in Iraq / Afghanistan
.
.
.

I hope them to be American soldiers/mercenaries.

Please read the rest of my post before you flame out.

Naturally, as a Canadian, I hope they are not OUR soldiers.

I have a great empathy for the civilians and military forces that BELONG in Iraq and Afghanistan.

WE - neither the USA,NATO or other "coalition" countries belong in the ME.

Did they ask for our help?

This ain't WW1 or WW2 when North America's firepower was needed across the pond.

USA STARTED these wars in the ME and dragged some of us into it.

So when I hear of deaths in the ME, as a result of the USA's invasions

my sympathies are NOT with the USA.

I suspect much of the World would agree with me

3. point of order:
America's "firepower" was NOT needed in WW1. We declared war when the outcome was clear.

And there would have been death in Afganistan without our invasions. Brutal, medieval deaths. The Taliban ruled through terror.

I don't have a good solution for Afganistan, either.
