Frederick ousted as (Virginia) GOP chairman
Source: Washington Post

Virginia Republicans voted overwhelmingly Saturday to oust party Chairman Jeffrey M. Frederick in an effort to stanch the bleeding of a bitter internal feud that some feared could set back the gubernatorial campaign of former state Attorney General Bob McDonnell.

The State Central Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia removed the defiant Mr. Frederick on a 57-18 vote.

The central committee had called for Mr. Frederick's resignation in a letter March 4, announcing Saturday's planned vote for his removal if he did not resign within 30 days. Mr. Frederick has held his position since May, and the committee sought his resignation in January.

The showdown over Mr. Frederick comes seven months before a pivotal, nationally watched gubernatorial election in which the party hopes to reverse recent losses.

2. Here's hoping the repukes implode during the upcoming race for Governor. I wish McAuliffe hadn't
decided to run. He can ruin the entire race if he runs it anything like the Clinton campaign. Won't fly here in VA, especially central and southern VA. I'm just now getting up to speed on his primary opponent and really don't know much about him.

3. Same here -
I was dismayed - and confused - when McAuliffe announced.

He's gonna get his ass handed to him, even here in NoVa, I suspect - he didn't win a whole lot of fans for Hillary Clinton during the campaign - but, as you said, in the rest of the Commonwealth, he'll be crushed.

I'm glad the GOPigs got rid of that nasty little prick, Frederick. He was so rightwing, he could see up his own butt from the other side. I bet his replacement is going to be a whole lot more moderate.

I hope not, but I bet he will be. (Note the "he".)

6. Yes, the VA State Democratic Party called me for a donation.
I told them that I would donate as soon as I was sure Terry McAuliffe was not going to be our Democratic Nominee.

8. First principles. Simplicity. Read Marcus Aurelius. Of each particular thing ask:What is its nature?
Money

McAuliffe came into the west end office I was working out of to drop a half Mil on the campaign

Money

I told a telephone caller (very nicely) that I would never support him- I would sit out the campaign if he got the nomination. I will be shocked if Bolling doesn't win but ---has to take a pause to not sound like a complete ass--- I'm the kind of person who makes a difference in this state over the last three election cycles.... I mean that in terms of cranking/grass roots/from my doorstep/GOTV stuff.

No to McAuliffe

10. My only question was
"What the fuck is McAuliffe thinking?"

My next question was "Why are you doing this?"

Answer: Ego. Ego. Ego.

11. I was wondering the same thing
you don't throw yourself into a situation of winning or losing if your game is to just TRY to get people elected. You don't want a definite conclusion.

You are probably right EGO but let's not pretend that Terry has nowhere to go- generating money will always be a lucrative career in politics

12. It's not about money for Terry -
it's about the contest, the game, the rush.

He's a campaign junkie, and now, being completely out in the cold, he's forced to try to generate his own heat. I think it's going to be a dismal failure.

We're not alone, or unusual, in our sentiments..................
