Source: Associated Press

SHANGHAI (AP) — China's steelmakers are abiding by international trade rules and reject charges of dumping, government and industry officials said in comments published Friday, amid brewing tensions over surging U.S. imports of Chinese steel.

American makers of steel pipe used in oil and gas drilling filed complaints with U.S. trade officials earlier this week over alleged unfair competition. The Chinese government has yet to react publicly but indications are that Beijing will back its mostly state-owned manufacturers.
