Official: Obama to allow travel, money transfers by Cuban Americans to family in Cuba

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama directed his administration Monday to allow unlimited travel and money transfers by Cuban Americans to family in Cuba, and to take other steps to ease U.S. restrictions on the island, a senior administration official told The Associated Press.

The formal announcement was being made at the White House Monday afternoon, during presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs' daily briefing with reporters. The official spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to upstage the president's announcement.

1. When you can prove that you have family in Cuba,
or when the O administration drops the rest of the travel restrictions.

5. I don't want to go to Cuba, but I'd like the legal right to.
All I want is to be as free as Canadians.

6. I need to find a Cuban-American friend.
My boys are two and a half and I've yet to have an "it's a boy" cigar. All I want is a box of cigars to share with my family and friends.

On second thought, it might just be quicker, easier, and cheaper for me to take a trip up to Canada for a box of cubans.

Seriously though, congrats to all of the Cuban-Americans who will finally be able to see their families again.

10. Good! About time -- way past time. Thanks, President Obama.
Now, the U.S. needs to lift all travel restrictions and drop the sanctions.
